With the fast development of information technology, the rapid spread of the Internet in China, as well as the growing demand for knowledge, many colleges and universities began to use the network to provide learning opportunities to the society. In the period of relatively small Internet bandwidth, the universities’informatization level had a direct impact on this new mode of education. In recent years, as China’s Internet bandwidth continuously improve, RIA applications gradually become the main form of network applications, and network education has been tremendously changed as a new mode of education. On the previous premise, fast, efficient and convenient transfer of knowledge on the basis of Internet bandwidth has become a new topic in the establishment of informatization for universities. With the extensive use of Flash video technology in recent years, network education has also been added new vitality. Most real-time video system work in the form of C/S client, which makes the system difficult to deploy and maintain, and is not conducive to the promotion of network education. But video system using Flash is easy to maintain and deploy which is the feature of the Web, and also has the powerful feature of C/S client in the support of AS3.0. The introduction of real-time video capabilities makes the network education not only highly interactive which is the feature of traditional mode of teaching, but also convenient and fast which are features of network applications.On the basis of investigation of the Web-based remote video education, this thesis studies mainly how to use the mode and ways of network remote video education to make the combination of the advantages of the traditional classroom and college informatization management, and designs and develops Web-based university remote video education system. The system creates a comprehensive and open training platform. It will not only improve the teaching quality of the network, but also improve the efficiency of the management, and is suitable for a wide range of training, teaching, meetings and management in colleges and universities.Firstly, the thesis starts from the development background, social demand and actual significance of the system and overviews the Web-based university remote video education system. Secondly, using the object-oriented system approach, combined with case diagram and detailed description of the functional requirements of the system, the thesis explains the development environment, the development mode and runtime environment of the system. Thirdly, from the analysis of goals and needs of the system, the thesis proposes the overall design of the system, and has a detailed description of the function design and database design of the system. Fourthly, the thesis thoroughly introduces the implementation method of each module of the system in the ways of text and flowchart. Fifthly, the thesis explains the process of system testing using some of the test cases. Finally, the essay points out that the system also needs to be improved.
