With the development of information technology and the Internet, distance education has been gradually entering the modern's mind. Distance education with multimedia is a brand-new innovation of the conventional education pattern. It is a modern educational mode based on modern high-speed network and multimedia technology, and it gives the students more learning experience, and greatly improves learning efficiency. However, the main usage of remote education still stays in the courseware's playing on demand, and the development about application of real-time live teaching is very slowly. The most important reason is that, the teacher in live teaching process needs to show various resources to students, which exceeds the capability of simple live streaming media. This weakness restricts the application of multimedia resources and the live remote teaching system.Through the study of streaming media's practical theory and transmission characteristics, this thesis presents a media flow control method to handle the synchronization of teaching resources in real-time distance teaching system. The method works in the application layer and it's very simple to implement. It eliminates the practical bottleneck which baffles the application of remote teaching system.The synchronization message needs to be described by standard in order to facilitate courseware's exchange. The thesis discusses the China E-Learning Technology Standardization, especially the kernel of Learning Object Metadata Standard and Content Packaging Specification. By consulting synchronized multimedia integration language, absorbing its virtue, this thesis also proposes a standardized way to describe synchronization control information, which is easy to implement and supports learning resources standards.Through the validation in the project, the solution proved to work effectively and accurately. What's more, it's easy and convenient for users to operate. Meanwhile, the courseware generates by this system has strong flexibility and benefits the exchanging and sharing of learning resources. It also promotes the full utilization of teaching resources and it has practical significance to promote development of distance education in our country.
