As information technology industry has been supported and invested greatly, someimportant projects such as FTTX develop constantly, optical communication industry takesan unprecedented development chance. Optical transceiver module can provide all kinds ofphotoelectric interface for transmission network, which ensure that the connection ofcommunication network as an important part of network equipment.Small form-factor pluggable module can meet the requirements of the basiccommunication at the current communication capacity and rate, which has been widelyapplied already. But with a series of hot applications to the development and the furtherdemand of low cost and high link capacity to optical module products, compact smallform-factor pluggable transceiver was invented. Based on all of the advantages of the SFP,CSFP can reduce the shape dimension of optical transceiver and light system equipmentgreatly and make a significant increase in the communication port density and datathroughput, which combined with high level of integration photoelectric loop andhigh-density mounting technology.This paper will research and design a kind of CSFP optical transceiver based onphotoelectric integration technology, which meet design specifications such as INF-8074,SFF-8472and CSFP MSA. The paper consists of four parts:The beginning of the paper introduced research purpose, significance and researchdynamic situation at home and abroad firstly, and given a detailed description of themechanical specifications, digital diagnosis function and the definition of electricalinterface from design standards such as INF-8074, SFF-8472and CSFP MSA.The second part of this article introduced the concept and advantages of integratedoptical devices and how to produce practical optoelectronic integrated device. This partalso discussed the design principles of the cooling system, provided theoretical basis forthe design and optimization of CSFP optical transceiver by calculating and comparing keycircuits. With discussing the principle and detailed features, the whole design schemeincluding launching, receiving, driver and controlling part of CSFP was shown in the thirdpart. The optimization of CSFP optical transceiver also has been done by thermalsimulation.At the end of the article, we tested some sample modules accurately, and then given aconclusion after collecting and analysing the result data of research. Some problems in thestudy and the future direction of development were concluded finally.
