With the rapid development of network communication, wireless sensor network technology has broad application prospects increasing attention has been widespread concern. Due to the huge value of the wireless sensor network, it has caused great concern to many countries of the world, such as the military departments, industry and academia. However, node cost, power consumption and integration issues has been a key factor restricting its development.ZigBee is a short-range, low-power wireless communication technology which based on IEEE802.15.4standard, as well as a the typical communications technology in WSN. ZigBee has broad application prospects in intelligent building, precision agriculture, automation industries attributed to its low-cost, low-power, low-latency, high-capacity. This article briefly describes the characteristics of ZigBee technology and the network structure, and its network protocol has been in-depth theoretical studied and simulation analyzed.Firstly, a brief overview of the technical standards of the IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee agreement, the use of topology diagram describes the ZigBee network equipment components and networking, in-depth understanding of the functions of each node. Building Workspace by IAR software to analyze the ZStack layers structure, including the physical layer, MAC layer, application layer, packet intercepted by Sniffer software to explain layers relations and the process of networking.Secondly, the article describes several typical class network of the Ad-Hoc routing protocols AODV, DSDV, DSR. NS2routing simulation platform has been build in the Linux, studied its programming language and the function module. After successfully simulated the three protocol routing process, by analyzing the export the trace file to make the performance comparison and evaluation. Results show that the AODV routing options make it outstanding performance in packet delivery ratio and routing overhead, is a very suitable ZigBee routing protocol.Finally, we propose a simple, efficient and energy-efficient routing protocol based on data aggregation to extend the useful life of the ZigBee network. And SEE compared with the Ad-Hoc network routing protocols, such as AODV, DSR, DSDV, DD, and MCF in the same simulation environment. Relative time and node energy these two parameters were set into neighbor table for routing, which ensures reliability and avoid routing congestion. Same time, the use of one-level data aggregation to reduce data redundancy, aim to average node energy consumption and prolong the network lifetime.The test data can significantly informed that the proposed routing protocol in terms of throughput to end delay, average energy consumption and average network lifetime exhibit certain advantages.
