Port is a transportation hub what has water and land transport equipment and conditionsfor access and safety of the ship moored.It is the important strategic resources tostimulateregional economic development.With the deepening of reform and opening upChina’s valueof import and export is constantly rising and port industry is continuously upgrading. Thecompetition between ports are more and more serious.Foshan Sanshui Port has an excellentlocation conditions, but it is still mainly rely on manual operation and informationtransmission mainly rely on the transmission ofpaper documents. The operating efficiency islow.Foshan Sanshui Port is the research object of this paper. The author selects heavycontainer out and empty containers back operation as optimization object, introduce theexisting operation process of Sanshui port, the port layout, the number of devices, workinghours and so on. The author also analysis the deficiencies of the existing operationprocess.According to the Petri net basic knowledge and theory, this paper builds a model forthe heavy container out and empty containers back operation. Test the rationality of the modelby constructing correlation matrix.Additionally, testing the subnets of the petri net model andlooking for the synchronous relationship and conflict relationship between subnets. And thenoptimizing the existing processes by using correlation matrix reorganization optimizationrules, the introduction of intelligent gates and other means. Then build the optimized petri netmodel. Eventually, simulate the existing business processes and the optimized businessprocesses by Arena, and compare the operation time, the waiting time outside the gates, thewaiting captain outside gates between the existing operation processes and the optimizedoperation processes.
