The Design And Implementation Of Student Information Management System Based On B/S Structure

In recent years, vocational colleges have been blooming in numbers and enlargingin scales thanks to nation’s favorable policy on vocational education development. Inorder to standardize students’ management and improve efficiency of operation, mostcolleges have purchased the software of Student Management System.However thesoftware could not meet the specific requirement of different colleges, since there are notstandards of universal student information management and the software has differentemphasis. Hengshui Vocational and Technical College, which has upgraded to a highervocational college since2001, has purchased many information management softwaresuch as educational system software and library management system.However, the levelof informatization of the student management is still low and badly in need ofimprovement and progress.Based on the analysis of the students’ management conditions and the software wehave kept, I designed and realized the student information management system based onthe B/S structure. This paper covers5parts: system analysis, database design, systemdesign and realization, data mining and system teat.The system applies to three tiers structure of B/S to ensure the system runs smoothlyand stably. The system is managed by SQL Server2000database, new web site isdeveloped with ASP technology and database is visited by adapting the technology ofADO. The system could achieve these functions including implements user management,student status management, score management and student affairs management functions.At same time data mining technology has been used in the field of education during whichstudent academic standards, moral standards and practical ability are mined andcomprehensive evaluation of the qualitative results are obtained by the using of decisiontree algorithm. Real-time data could be maintained and demanded in this system withhigh security and data consistency.With the application of this system, our informatization construction will moveforward by a big step, at the same time the students management work of our college willbe more and more reasonable,standard and high efficiency.
