In recent years, the increasingly competitive market of electronic products impose more and more pressure on the enterprises in the electronic industry.On one hand, more and more customers demand highlycustomized products of increasingly high quality and performances yet at a lower price. On the other hand, the degree of complexity of the design of new products keeps on getting higher and higher, leading both to the high cost of the product and to frequent product quality problems. PLM system to promote the success of the enterprise application can effectively reduce the cost of products, shorter product market cycles, improve product quality.The introduction of PLM system crucial significanceor improving the market competitiveness of high-tech electronics manufacturing enterprises.This thesis studies the whole process of the design and implementation of PLM system by a high-tech electronics manufacturing company(Y).The main work and results are as follows:(1)First, the paper symptomatically walks through thetheoretical study of the PLM system, as the theoretical basis of this study.(2)After analyzing Company Y’s "five factor model", product development management status and existing problems, the paper arrives at the necessity of the design and implementation of the PLM system.(3)Considering Y Company’s product development characteristics, current situation and existing problems, the paper not only points out Company Y’s requirements in the PLM system design and project implementation, but also designs an overall solution based on PLM system.(4)Finally, the paper lays out the plan for the PLM system implementation for Y Company, and gives suggestions on ensuring the smooth implementation of the PLM system.
