Design And Implementation Of College Scientific Research Information Management System

With the gradual progress of information technology, especially the integrated applications of computer technology, communication technology, network technology and other technologies, the processing of information becomes faster and more efficient. Universities are important research institutions. We are concerned with two important issues about them:one is how to make their research management more standardized, scientific, and electronic; the other is how to conduct paperless management on their research results, papers and other information to improve their efficiency and management level. Combined with the actual situation of scientific research management in our college, this paper makes full use of the method of management and software engineering from the perspective of information system platform construction, proposes effective solutions to requirements analysis, system analysis, system design, software development and other aspects, and carries out a systematic analysis and design of scientific research information management system.This paper first introduces the background of university scientific research information management and makes a brief analysis of their business processes, points out the problems that need to be resolved in the existing process of university scientific research management, and sums up the necessity of developing university scientific research management system. In addition, it elaborates the methods and techniques of software development, and makes a detailed description of the theoretical basis used in this paper and key technologies, such as ASP.NET, MS SQL, B/S structure, the three-tier architecture, C#language.Before system is developed, the demand analysis needs to be done mainly on the systematic investigation and analysis of users’demand. The scientific research information management system serves the school teachers, counselors and administrators who are engaged in scientific research activities within school. Its users include the system administrator, research department manager, scientific secretary, researchers and so on. Different levels of users have different authorities. They enter the system to consult, declare, manage and modify scientific information through the campus network. Functionally, the system is divided into project management, management of research funding, scientific papers management, scientific and technological achievements and reward management, academic conference management, personnel management, rights management and other modules, of which different module areas are responsible for corresponding research business and they work in harmony to achieve research management system functions. By using object-oriented modeling ideas and the Unified Modeling Language (UML), it analyzes the scientific research information management system, establishes the model of the system software, and elaborates the model building processes of system requirements model, the static structure model and the dynamic behavior model in details. These views describe the structure and behavior of the system from different angles and aspects, and can be used as the theoretical guidance and important basis of this system.Then, the design and realization of this system is carried out. The development of the system adopts B/S mode and uses authentication mechanisms and security design to improve its security. The realization of scientific information management system is achieved by using object-oriented programming ideas and ASP.NET and MS SQL2005database. The system functions are tested based on black-box testing methods for software testing, including user login system and authority testing, research project management testing, research project queries and systems data maintenance testing,etc. Test results show that the scientific information management system can meet the actual needs in research management and other aspects.Finally, based on a comprehensive summary of the scientific information management system, this paper analyzes the system’s deficiencies and areas for improvement and set up a clear direction for system upgrades or developing a more comprehensive research management system.This paper studies and establishes the scientific information management system that meets the requirements of our college, provides a set of information system for its comprehensive scientific research management, such as research project management, research achievement management, management of research funding and academic exchange conference management. This system can make it possible to manage the entire life cycle of each project. Through a unified data model, it offers an exact point of view about project-related activities, makes scientific research departments allocate appropriate resources for the project, and ensures the project execution and track results of the project, thus enhancing the capacity and efficiency of schools.
