In the manufacturer of engine, the collection of production data is an important part in theproduction process. Production data directly affects the improvements, maintenance and traceof the quality of engine in the engine production, Therefore, the data acquisition and controlsystem are more important to the engine production enterprises. What discussed in this paperabout the engine control system is precisely to meet this demand.The system is based on the engine assembly line of Shanghai Automobile Group1.8TFR.This paper presents the database business models of the system, the design andimplementation process of the system, the main module of the system, and the installationprocess problems and their solutions. To realize the data exchange of the systems and PLC,the system uses Simatic.Net of OPC technology. The system can collect and storage thereal-time data of the quality, alarm information of the each production site in the station andmachine status of monitoring assembly line of motor, and also can displays all the informationon the screen of the system.Microsoft visual C#programming language, Microsoft ASP.NET developmentenvironment, Microsoft SQL Server2000database software, and ADO.NET database accesstechnology are used in the system. Now the system has been put into the real manufacturer tomeet production requirements and improve the effect of the company.
