Graphic image as a symbol of image can stimulate people’s image thinking, which makes originally complex rules and theories easy to understand. In recent years, with the continuous development of computer visualization technology, more principles and laws have been conveyed through images by computer. Thus more and more researchers have paid their attention to the role of visual thinking in scientific research.Oil water two-phase flow is the common phenomenon in process of petroleum chemical industry. Because the real phenomenon of flowing in sealing pipe is invisible, the visualization of it would provide timely information for scientific discovery and decision-making controlling, which has great significance in this sense.Based on the research of visual simulation technology and combined with virtual reality technology, this thesis summarizes the shortcomings of the previous simulation results and puts forward a new simulation scheme. First, a horizontal circular pipe model is created in the Maya software, because the model size, on the model of the observation angle and model perspective effect will have a direct impact on the simulation results of the observation, it appears crucial to design the color, light, transparency of the3D model to make it convenient to observe the flowing state of the fluid in the pipe. Second, the specific shape of the fluid is determined according to the effective part of the matrix in given matrix. There are generally four types:central flow, laminar flow, circulation, a bit stream. Then Maya software Polygon module is to be used for model building for different shapes of fluids. Third, the material and lighting of fluid model are established, and the cross-sectional results are described to enhance the detail display of fluid image according to the bit stream shape of fluid represented sparse matrix, central fluid application equal area interpolation algorithm and the vector of the graphs in Maya software. Four, the Maya plug-in unit composed by C++language is applied to stimulate the two phase flow in real-time in accordance with the fluid represented by the sparse matrix. Finally, the whole scene is embellished and the animation is output. The experimental results show that based on Maya platform, the application of this algorithm to continuous dynamic simulation debugging for the four kinds of flow pattern in the oil-water two phase flow leads to a real and natural result and obviously improves the visual effects of three-dimensional image.
