A Research On The Image Construction Of The New Immigrants In City’s Mainstream Newspaper

China’s reform and opening up more than three decades, along with the process of industrialization and urbanization, the developed cities influx of a large number of new immigrants. The process of integration of new immigrants in the city, how the media reports and reproduce their activities in the city, how to construct the image of the group, affect the relationship between the communication of new immigrants and urban residents, and also affect government public policies of immigrant groups.This paper attempts to take the Guangzhou Daily as an example, to explore the topic of the image construction of the new immigrants in city’s mainstream newspaper realistic significance of this moment. Papers by the Guangzhou Daily published in the30years1983-2012sampling, and extracted samples newspapers, statistical analysis of the news coverage of the city’s new immigrants, with the help of data and content analysis to try to answer the following questions:urban mainstream media reported that new immigrants reported that the overall situation? What are the characteristics? The city’s mainstream media reported what kind of framework to reports the new immigrants? Generally shows a reproduction of the kind of image of the new arrivals from the city and its different groups? Different times, the media image of the different groups of immigrants whether there are differences?Papers with the help of statistical sampling method, content analysis, a frame of reference analysis theory, statistical sampling to obtain first-hand information, combined with the reported text with references to the conclusion of the study, by quantitative and qualitative analysis of the combination of research methods.The paper found that:First, the city’s new immigration issues into the agenda of the City mainstream media reports, but new immigrants reported to be improved in quality and quantity, depth and breadth of subject matter diversified, the main body of the new immigrants, nor space to express very optimistic; through the sampling and analysis of new immigrants, the city’s mainstream media reported reported that the new immigrants mainly the framework of issues, conflict framework to incorporate the four reported framework of the framework, as well as care framework, and regardless of the reported framework,are implicit in Guangzhou within the culture of immigrants outside the main line; Third, in general, the mainstream media reported in Guangzhou to build the Guangzhou new immigrants "misconduct have met with much care," the group image, but in different times and immigration the image of the group there are some differences.
