Recently, the swift development of digital technologies has changed the traditionalreading habits and the reading materials. As the main force of the publishing market, theform of products, services, operator roles and the revenue model of the school learningsupplementaries have undergone tremendous changes. In order to fit for the competitivemarkets, the business model needed to be creative. Although, the study focused on digitaleducation, electronic publish an so on, there was a lack of attention focusing on thebusiness model of the school learning supplementaries.The author brought forth new ideas in the definitions of the school learningsupplementaries by examining the development history and analyzing the form of theschool learning supplementaries, mainly used interview, literature analysis and so on. Forobtaining the analyzing model of business model, the publishers were divided into four:government-dominant model, press-dominant model, civilianrun enterprise-dominantmodel, and terminal device-dominant model. Meanwhile, the author determined thebusiness model of the school learning supplementaries combining with the research on thedefinition of business model and elements in the digital age.These paper chiefly researchesinto the press business model with the choice of Foreign Language Teaching and ResearchPress as a test-case. Compared with the traditional business model, the author looked forinnovators and some problems by analyzing the six elements of business model: valueproposition, target customer, value chain, value network, revenue model, and keyresources for further study.
