In recent years, the significant increasing number of disabled and old people hasbecome an important social problem with the highlight of the aging population andfrequent occurrence of natural disasters or accidents. As limited rehabilitation physiciansare not able to meet the needs of the growing number of patients, the social demand forrehabilitation treatment is very urgent. So the emergence of rehabilitation robot isinevitable. It becomes a hotpoint to maximize the advantages of rehabilitation robot instudy on rehabilitation treatment. Due to this point, one visual simulation system forrehabilitation can be developed by virtual reality technology to make rehabilitationtraining more interesting, motivated and effective. It carries out demand analysis based on psychological traits and motion of patientsafter detailing related knowledge of OpenGL and3D visual modeling about visualsimulation system, then completes the system algorithm design by using collisiondetection algorithm and hidden technology to determine spatial relation between objects, viewpoint translation technique to observe the scene dynamically, double buffer techniqueto bring about slick animation. The system gets developed by implementing scenebuilding module, models importing module, measurement converting module, which arethree main modules in visual simulation system. The visual simulation system has been put into use and received good feedback. Itdrives patients to do rehabilitation positively and keeps them involved in training. What’smore, makes it possible to offer detailed training parameters, program training, provideconditions for home rehabilitation, which promote rehabilitation training and meet t heneeds.
