Among recent lunar orbiters, both the Chinese Chang’E-1(CE-1) and the ChineseChang’E-2(CE-2) were equipped with microwave sounder to measure the naturalmicrowave emission from the lunar surface. The microwave emission, characterized by afrequency-dependent brightness temperature (TB), is related to the physical temperatureand dielectric properties of the lunar surface. By measuring the brightness temperature atdifferent frequencies, detailed thermal behavior and properties of the lunar surface can beretrieved. This thermal information could provide important clues to understand thethermal evolution of the Moon and provide reliable estimation of valuable lunar resources,such as helium-3, due to their dependence on the thickness of regolith.This paper was based on introducing the Chang-E Satellite Microwave Sounder, thendid the data comparative analysis for the three sets of microwave radiation brightnesstemperature data(CE-1microwave brightness temperature data set, CE-1calibration ofmicrowave data set,CE-2microwave brightness temperature data set), which were appliedby Lunar group in HUST. It introduced the microwave brightness temperature dataacquisition and data processing method, and gave the comparative analysis of the CEobserved brightness temperature data. At the same time, it chose Apollo, Copernicus craterand the whole month to compare the three sets of microwave radiation brightnesstemperature data, then analyzed rich regolith characteristics contained in the microwavedata for the later study on regolith properties with the HUST microwave radiation transferof lunar regolith for brightness temperature model.In this paper, I used the MATLAB GUIDE, combined with the ideas of softwareengineering, developed and completed “Lunar microwave radiation calculation andexperimental data process and surface parameters retrieve software”. The softwareintegrated present microwave radiation transfer results of HUST Lunar Group, mainlycontained four functional modules: CE pretreatment, experimental data, theoreticalanalysis, surface parameters retrieve.“Lunar microwave radiation calculation and experimental data process and surfaceparameters retrieve software” has won the certificate of professional institutions, andcould promote the project for the research work.
