Multi-Beam Echo Sounder is an absolutely necessary seafloor mapping device with high accuracy and high efficient at 21st century. It is much fitted to sweep mapping for wide area.In the 1990s, Harbin Engineering University Underwater Acoustics Academe had developed H/HCS-017 Multibeam Swath Bathymeter for navy. For improving product performance and miniaturization, we had investigated Portable Multi-Beam Echo Sounder at 2004. I'm duty on developing software with gathering, storing, displaying, processing data and mapping which is much fitted to our new Portable Multi-Beam Echo Sounder on the foundation of now study.In this paper, I have designed and completed Portable Multi-Beam Echo Sounder Real-processing and control software system and Portable Multi-Beam Echo Sounder Post-Processing and Mapping software system with Microsoft VC++ 6.0. The former sends command parameters, controls system, gathers and displays and stores all kinds of data, and so on. And the latter pre-processes all kinds of data, creates 3D seafloor sampling data, builds Digital Terrain Model (DTM), and realistically displays 3D terrain with Scientific Visualization technique and Open Graphic Library (OpenGL).In the experiment of Songhua Lake from Sep to Oct at 2004, both two had run better.
