With the rapid development technology of information, the fieldbus technology hasbecome a hot technology of concern in automatic control area. And the CAN bus hasproved to be one of the most widely used field bus in the world with its advantages ofreliability and flexibility, which has the incomparable superiority in many fields, likeautomotive electronics, automatic control and so on. At present, the iCAN fieldbusprotocol, produced by Zhiyuan of Guangzhou, with its concise and convenientcharacteristics attracted much attention especially for the domestic users.The embedded industrial control core module designed in this paper includecompleted CAN-bus communication circuit and reliable iCAN high-level protocol, andan effective way of data collection and communication is set between masterequipment and the site signal. The users can construct the CAN-bus applicationnetwork flexibly according to the backplane designed by themselves. The design ofthis paper has certain engineering application value and research significance in thedevelopment of industrial control network.It is introduced the research background, purpose and significance of control moduleand described the related knowledge of field bus technology and CAN-bus in thisthesis. The parts of hardware and software of this module was detailed described andanalyzed. This module with industrial-grade32bit ARM processor LPC11C14of CANcontroller can be configured as many as8road DI port,8road DO port,4road10bitADC,4road PWM output. The part of CAN application layer with standard iCANprotocol, has better versatility and provide flexible data collection scheme for users. Toensure the stably and reliably operate in the industrial environment, the high-speedsignal isolation devices and bus protection devices was used in CAN-buscommunication port and the watchdog and dedicated power reset chip was applied inthe peripheral hardware.To sum up, the embedded industry control module based on iCAN protocol is acommon core module. In the long-term, it can reduce the investment cost of users andespecially suit for the network development and construction of real-timecommunication with remote, more nodes and high reliability. The research designed in this subject have broad prospects for development for the current development trend ofindustrial Ethernet and the standardization of fieldbus application layer.
