The Application Of Data Mining Technology In Public Security Police Information Management System

Today the data mining technology is one of the hotspots in the database and the artificialintelligence research areas, and it extracts effective, implicit, potentially useful,easily-understood, and even undiscovered valuable information from the vast amounts of data.It also combines the theories and technologies in the areas of database management, patternrecognition, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics and so on. Since the1990s, thedata mining technology has been applied extensively to the areas of market, financialinvestment, production and manufacturing, banking, telecommunication, transportation, etc.But in the public security area it is still in infancy. As the information data of the publicsecurity are stored in different kinds of police departments, as well as confidential not to bedisclosed conveniently, the application and the research of the data mining technology in thepublic security information area have lagged far behind in other areas. Huge amounts ofpublic security information data are neither effectively utilized nor transformed intoknowledge, to provide strong supports for the public security decisions.Against the research background of the public security police information, this articleanalyses and studies the application correlation and system framework of the public securitypolice information. With the rapid increases of the case data among the varieties of the publicsecurity police information, if the data mining technology is used in the case informationmanagement system to establish the case information analysis and decision system, the publicsecurity authorities can be provided with effective scientific proofs for decision-makings. The application of the data mining technology to pertinently exploring the various types ofdata in the case information system, is therefore carried on, to make the auxiliary policedecisions, to guide the police work, or to improve the efficiency of the law enforcement.In this article, data mining technology is introduced, which is sufficiently integrated withthe existing resources of the public security police information, and therein selects the caseinformation management system, to make the in-depth data mining so as to get the valuablecase information. By reading the relevant literature, we explore and analyze the data in thecase information management system, using association rule mining, decision tree algorithmand clustering mining techniques on basis of data mining knowledge. Regarding MicrosoftSQL SERVER2005as a background database and data mining platform, we establish thedata mining structure and mining models and employ C#language to design the data miningsystem. The extracted knowledge and the empirical results are compared each other to verifythe reasonableness of the data mining system.The innovation of this article focuses on the data mining application, which employsup-to-date data mining technology in the public security police information, aiming toupgrade the defense mode of the public security bureaucracy, to increase the solvingefficiency of the public security case, and to improve the technological level of theinformation-based application. The research method can be extended to other informationsystems, and it is hopeful to provide some guidance and reference to the data miningapplications to the public security information in the future.
