Data Mining And Its Applications In The Field Of Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medieine(TCM) has been a bright pearl in cultural legacy of our country for quite a long history. It is a subject to study the process of human life, activity against diseases and health maintenance. With the development of the society, it has gradually developed its own system of scientific theories. The wholism concepts and treatment according to syndrome differentiation are the essence of the system. In that gradually developed TCM system, the formation and differentiation between some symptoms and syndrome, syndrome and treatment, symptoms and prescriptions, even herbs and herbs are completely relying on human's experience. While those experience such as learning from masters, collecting old handdrafts and inherting the knowledge from ancesters,etc,all those methods have strong subjectivity, poor repeatability and low effieiency. Therefore data mining technology becomes a viable solution to mine scientific experience in Traditional Chinese MedicineIn this paper, the author takes the data samples of liver-related headache as original data to find the scientific treatment experience of that disease by TCM. First of all, we have collected a large number of original clinical datas from some institutes of Traditional Chinese Medicine, secondly we did a deep study of the relationship between liver and internal damage headache, then we do further study of the methods of data mining, at last we do some deletions to the original datas we have collected.The main works are as follows:(1) Theoretical research. Study and do some research of the newly relative concepts, latast research results about DataMining(DM), association rules and decision tree algorithm.(2) Original sample data preprocessing. Which includes the analysis of data on the characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, regulation and coding data of Chinese medicine, and data processing methods.(3) Introduce classical association rules algorithms. Establish the proper mining model and mine the association rules of TCM. (4) Analyze the principle of Decision Tree, establish the model of TCM diagnosis classification, study application of decision tree classifieation method using in the treament of the liver-related headache based on information entropy.The experimental results show that the application of data mining algorithms can well dig out the rules in line with the syndrome differentiation of TCM. And it can fully interpret the connotation and extension of the treatment by Traditional Chinese Medicine.
