This papermainly focus on the design and simulation ofthe two-layer Half-mode Substrate Inte-grated Waveguide(HMSIW)thinslot-antenna array based on material of LCP (liquid crystal polymer).According to the equivalent formula ofthe traditional rectangular waveguide parameters, design andsimulate Substrate Integrated Waveguide(SIW)model in the Ka-band. And then finally get a goodtransmission performance of SIW model by CST simulation software parameter sweep and optimiza-tion functions.With the development of LTCC (low temperature co-fired ceramic) and LCP, as well asmulti-layer PCB (printed circuit board) circuit technology, the energy transfer between the multi-layerstructure is put forward higher requirements. This paper designed the Ka-band SIW and HMSIWwhich is based on LCP material. With the design method of the traditional multi-layer SIW whichused the rectangular slot coupling energy through two layers, this paper proposed a model ofdual-layer SIW. Additionally, another dual-layer structure of SIW by opening the coupling metal layeris given in the end of chapter Ⅲ.With the multi-layer Microwave transfer technology and SIW structure designed, multi-layerpower divider can be designed. Microwave power divider is a device which has the functions of di-rectional transporting microwave. Though rectangular waveguide power divider has a high Q value,power capacity as its advantages, due to the large size and difficult integration, higher requirementsfor the processing and manufacturing of microwave devices cannot be used on a large scale. SubstrateIntegrated Waveguide power dividerpresents the above advantages and has a lower profile.This paperproposed a new four-way power divider with the structure of HMSIW of two layers, based on LCPand works in Ka-band. Compared to the traditional SIW power divider, this dual-layer HMSIW powerdivider presents advantages of lower profile and higher energy transfer efficiency.Slot antenna array based on HMSIW can be integrated to the power divider designed above. Re-sonant slot antenna array is a relatively common leaky-wave antennas, simulation and design on thebasis of the existing design methods in the Ka-band of Half-mode Substrate Integrated Waveguideultra-thin slot array antenna which isintegrated in the rear part of a two layer four-way divider is pro-posed in this paper. Finally based on this design, a substrate integrated waveguide slot antenna arrayof8×8double mold halves is simulated and designed.
