With the development of science and technology, more and more new products have beendeveloped and provided to meet the diversification of demands from human beings. Since thetraditional robots and bio-robots are unable to wrok properly under certain circumstance,animals-robots have been given more and more importance. Animals-robots show some uniqueadvantages due to thier flexibility, self-initiative and environmental adaptability, which promises abroad application prospect.Remote control and telemetry system is the core component for animal-robots. In this paper, thecurrent research status of the remote control and telemetry system and the development of embeddedtechnology were introduced at the beginning. Then a novel scheme of remote control was proposed, and the corresponding hardware and software were custom designed. The hardware of the system iscomposed of Tiny6410core board and baseboard. And the baseboard included power circuit, USBcircuit, multi-channel circuit, SD card interface circuit and LCD interface circuit. As for the software, the parameters of stimulation pulse frequency and width, stimulation channel and stimulation timewere programmed. A remote control system for animal-robot based on embedded technology wasdeveloped, which was with the feature that the control distance can be very far, even out of thelimitation of distance. The communication of the remote control system based on embeddedtechnology for animal-robot was based on3G network. Under the proper network connections of theclient computer (through Lan) and the control side of the hardware (through3G), the user at the clientend can access and operate the control side by the tools of remote logins such as telnet. Thus thecoverage of3G network affects the remote control range. Theoretically, the remote control system isreachable wherever the3G network is available. The effectiveness of the remote control system foranimal-robots was validated through the offline tests.
