Compared with traditional semiconductor laser,quantum dot laser has a lowerthreshold current density, and lower temperature dependence, these advantage enableit be one of choices for a space optical light source. And space optical communicationsystem will face the complex space radiation environment which can lead to aquantum dot laser performance drop or even failure, so we need to study quantum dotlaser radiation effect in the space radiation environment. Main work of this paper areas follows.In this paper, Quantum dot laser space theory of the effect by ionizing radiationwill be reserched. Also,I will Analysis space radiation environment, space radiationdose, according to space optical communication track gives the experimental dose.And Analysing of the damage mechanism of the semiconductor material spaceradiation. According to the energy level properties, quantum dot laser spectralcharacteristics will simplify the model output characteristics of quantum dot lasers onwhich based quantum dot laser ionization theory model of radiation damage.Moreover, Experiments were conducted to study the effect of quantum dot laserionization radiation. Then using60Co-gamma radiation source to simulation spaceradiation environment, Then take notes the change of quantum dot laser output power,threshold current, slope efficiency test before and after radiation. And Analysis theexperimental results, given the relationship of the three parameters and radiation dose,and compared with theoretical model. In addition, the model with different radiationsource radiation quantum dot lasers results were compared, discussing the scope ofapplication of the model.To provide the basis for space application provided in this paper can emitradiation experiment device for other light, provides a method of space radiationresearch at the same time, this research can be other optoelectronic devices.
