Modern wireless communication standards exhibit a variety of characteristics, andalso there are more and more different types of wireless communication systems.Traditional wireless communication platforms, however, do not have the ability tocross-communication between different systems, and are designed for each typeindividually which lead to a huge hardware-resource consumption, high upgrade-costs,longer development cycles. To make the fourth generation of the communicationsystems more vitality, software define radio has been used in them. As a newtechnology, using the universal and open hardware platform, software define radiointergrate many software based on different communication standard to achievecross-communication capability of different system, and the system is simple and lowcost to upgrade with versatility.In this paper, based on software radio, using a general model in the wirelesscommunication system, we mainly focus on the three important module: en/decryptionmodule, channel en/decoding module, signal modulation and demodulation module.To begin with, we study the RSA en/decryption algorithm. In this paper, weproposed a general RSA en/decryption model based on Montgomery algorithm. Themodel is suitable tradeoff between hardware resources and computing speed, and easyexpansion. And we implemented the model on FPGA board with different systemcombinations to obtain an optimal system.Secondly, we study the channel coding-LDPC encoder/decoder. After studiedboth WiMAX and WiFi communication standards adequately, we proposed whole newLDPC encoder and decoder for both standards in encoding and decoding processing.The experimental results show that both IP core has a very good performance.Besides, we study a variety of the most commonly used modulation anddemodulation algorithm, including BPSK, QPSK,16QAM,64QAM. In the analysis ofthe calculation process for the both processings, we design and integration of these fourmodes of the modulator and demodulator, respectively.Last but not least, on the previous work of this paper, with the template of thephysical layer of WiMAX (802.16e) and WiFi (802.11n), we proposed and designed aaccelerated communications prototype system that multi-standard multifunction hasbeen integrated. The prototype system can be effectively used for high-speed,multi-standard communications work which would have important practicalapplications of significance.
