Morphing aircraft is a new concept of modern aircraft, which is multi-purpose, polymorphousand unconventional layout. Because of its excellent performance, morphing aircraft has become animportant research direction in the aviation field. We can know more about the flight performance ofthe morphing aircraft by the visual simulation of its flight process. And it will help to verify the flightcontrol law, which is also an important auxiliary way to study morphing aircraft.Specifically considering a transformation of morphing aircraft from loiter to dash, nonlineardynamic functions of the morphing aircraft in the different morphing processes are derived. Byconsidering the nonlinearity and uncertainties of parameter because of variable structure, an adaptivecontrol law which works on the attitude control is designed for two flying models of morphing aircraft.The feasibility and effectiveness of this method based on Lyapunov theory are confirmed.This paper mainly discusses the technologies used to simulate sky, terrain and morphing aircraftbased on VC++and OpenGL so that it is sucessful to build the flight environment and it makes thevisual simulation of morphing aircraft come true. Because of the particularity of morphing aircraft,fuselage and wing are separately builded by3DSmax, and code is successfully converted andtransplanted. Aircraft exhaust plume is successfully simulated based on theory of particle system. Thetechnologies of texture mapping, fog and light are used so that the authenticity of simulationenvironment is enhanced. And viewpoint conversion technology is used so that flight status can beobserved from multiple angles. Finally, simulation system make use of matlab engine technology anduse computer hardware to set a timer, so simulink is controlled dynamicly and simulation system isreal-time drived by simulation data sucessfully.The visual simulation system of the morphing aircraft is developed based on in-depth analysis ofcomputer graphics technology. The flight process of the morphing aircraft from loiter to dash issimulated by the visual simulation system successfully. The simulation result shows that thetechnologies proposed provide effective ways to simulate different flying processes of morphingaircraft.
