Now studying satellite attitude control subsystem with high precision and high .stability is the key technology of modern small satellite, which has received increased domestic and overseas attention, and it is also the promise and basis on which all kinds of space exploration, space exploitation and other space missions can be realized. In the paper the attitude control subsystem based on HLA is designed and simulated for a specific Earth-oriented observation small satellite.The main work done in the paper is as follows:1. Satellite attitude dynamics modeling study: For the earth-oriented three-axis stabilized satellite, a precise attitude dynamics model is established, considering the influence of the environmental disturbance, such as the gravity, the Sun radiation, the earth magnetic field and the atmospheric resistance. Using quaternion as attitude representation, the attitude kinematics function is established.2. Several kinds of disturbance torques affecting the satellite attitude are directly computed through the models described in the paper, forming a closed loop stabilization system dumped by magnetic torques and provided with initial torques through flywheels, but other simulations only estimate it by experience.3. Attitude control subsystem study based on HLA: The appearance of HLA technology provides strong software support for the satellite system project that is complex in structure and has so many function modules. The paper presents the systematic and thorough HLA developing process, provides the keys to many problems you may encounter in the modeling and simulation process by HLA, such as synchronization, coding, attributes updating, sending interaction etc, and also provides a standard developing template for the future HLA application. Manager and Mechanics_Environment federates have been accomplished and simulated by the SOM/FOM models under pRTI which is a commercial RTI and accords with the HLA standard.4. Simulink that is a very important simulation and modeling tool in Matlab issimple and easily mastered. Through it the author made a deep study of the satellite attitude control subsystem, verified several sorts of disturbance torques and realized satellite three-axis attitude stabilization control and attitude maneuver under different conditions.5. RTW in Matlab can transform Simulink block models into c codes which are the start and basis on which simulink models can be transformed into HLA federates. This paper adequately presents the multi-domain modeling process and the interface framework between commercial simulation software and programs of HLA application layer.
