With the rapid development of computer technology, sensor technology,communication technology and Internet of Things, the smart home has becomethe development trade of future life. Connecting all things in the familythrough the network, the smart home can realize remote monitoring andintelligent management. Therefore, people can acquire safe, comfortable andconvenient lifestyle with the assistance of the smart home system. The paperdesigns the smart home remote monitoring system based on internet of things,wireless communication and GPRS.The paper first elaborates the development status of smart home andinternet of things in domestic and aboard, and analyzes the disadvantage inrelated industries. Then,brings up the scheme of constructing the smart homeremote monitoring system using GPRS module and radio frequencycommunication chip.The paper designs the software and hardware of sensor node and GPRSbase station. The sensor node is used to collect monitoring data and transmit itto GPRS base station. The wireless communication base station is used tocontrol sensor node and retransmit the monitoring data received from thesensor node. The wireless communication between the sensor node and basestation is realized by using SI4432.Using LABVIEW, the paper accomplishes the design of monitoringsoftware which can receive, process, display, memory and query monitoringdata. The server of monitoring center communicates with base station based onTCP/IP protocol. The monitoring software builds data base using LABVIEWSQL. At last, design experiments to test and verify the function of the system.
