Research Of Smart Home Based On The Internet Of Things

With the rapid development of science and technology and the continuous improvement of living standards, the concept of smart home begins to come towards to the public and becomes one of the hot topics in the field of science and technology. Because of its broad application prospects and huge potential market demand, many large electronics manufacturers have invested into the research and development of smart home system and have made great progresses. Kinds of smart home products came out one after another. These products make people lives more convenient.In this paper we investigate smart home based on the Internet of things. The paper introduces the smart home and the Internet of things at first, then it introduces the application status of the internet of things in smart home. Wireless sensor nodes are the basic units of smart home system and it’s the design focus of this paper. We consider about features of smart home such as low power, low cost, transmission distance and then choose ZigBee technology to build smart home wireless network and select the star network topology as the structure of smart home network.In terms of hardware, the paper determined the structure of each node according to the function of each node at first, and choose CC2430as ZigBee core chip and STM32F103VET6as MCU. Then we designed each module of nodes. In terms of software, this paper used the method of modular design, different modules communicate with each other by communication interfaces. In this way it is conducive to the development, maintenance and updating of the software system.The designs in this paper can achieve functions of monitor, alarm and control. Although it can’t reflect the whole picture of modern smart home system, but it reflects the convenience and practicality, as well as wide application prospect of smart home system.
