Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is a new type of broadband wireless network, which is distributed wireless network, and it is completely different from a traditional wireless network of new large capacity and high speed. Directional antenna is used to reduce interference, increase network throughput in the wireless mesh networks. At existing deployment study, reducing the number of antennas at nodes and itself-interference of antenna is the main purpose taking into account the expensive cost of directional antenna and the interference of the antenna itself. Analysis of the existing deployment study, the user’s QoS requirements are not considered in reducing the number of antenna at most of the research. But, a well-established network need to ensure that user’s access bandwidth requirements, provide user the quality of service that user needs. In this paper, firstly, a formula for calculating user’s QoS requirements is proposed under premise of the analysis of the major changes in wireless mesh networks with directional antenna. The equation is used to calculate users’ QoS needs in the access point of network. Then, the advantages and shortcomings of the existing wireless mesh network deployment model using directional antennas are analyzed; an optimization of the number of antennas in the wireless mesh network using directional antenna is implemented, combined with the user’s QoS analysis. An algorithm of network deployment optimization with user’s QoS analysis is proposed. The algorithm guarantee the network connectivity and reduce the number of directional antenna at the AP node of network at the same time ensure the user’s demand for access to broadband. Finally, it is proved that the user’s QoS analysis-based approach can ensure that user access needs while reducing the number of directional antenna at nodes in the network, reduce the cost of network deployment, lower the interference of antennas in the actual network deployment. The network deployment optimization based on the calculation and analysis of user’s QoS is a new research method, it bring new research ideas and solutions to the deployment study of wireless mesh network, is a new innovation and breakthrough and opens a new direction for future research in this area.
