In recent years, directional sensor has been widely used in various fiels such as video sensor, infrared sensor, ect. Therefore more and more research has been done on Directional Wireless Senor Network (DWSN). Deployment for DWSN is one of the most crucial key technology as well as one of research focus. Deployment of sensors has great influence on coverage control, sensing service quality, network’s lives and so on. So it is very important to obtain good effects on deployment. In this paper, a research is done on optimized deployment for DWSN. Main contents are as follows:Study on typical directional sensing models and analysis their advantages and disadvantages. In consideration of deficiency of existing directional sensing model, a directional probabilistic sensing model is designed. Omnidirectional probabilistic sensing model is used for reference in the directional probabilistic sensing model. This model accounts into rotation error in practical deployment application. In simulation experiment, network deployed with this model have better stability and coverage quality. The accuracy and availability of directional probabilistic sensing model is been verified.Deployment algorithms for area coverage are analysised so that defects of deployed position are improved. Sensing coverage center of directional sensor node is proposed and a deployment method which called SSDC based on the coverage center is designed. According to simulation experiment, algorithms which are improved based on SSDC do a good performance on deployment effects in area coverage. Coverage rate is quite rised compared with former algorithm.Minimal Exposure Path algorithm is analysised and used in DWSN to optimize deployment. Exposure value and exposure path are calculated to examine coverage effects in fence coverage for for moving targe. And then the minimal exposure path which is the worst coverage path is redeployed with sensor nodes. The position of redeployment is theminimal exposure position. According to simulation experiment, the redeployment which is based on Minnimal exposure path obtain good effects and coverage quality of network is improved.
