Since the1990s, with the impact of the market economy and the rapid developmentof modern media technology, the living space of literature had crowded out by movies,TV, mobile phones, internet, e-readers and other media. As a great place to publish theliterature, the traditional literary periodical has no longer in participate in thecompetition of the market evolution, and marginalized situation becomes increasinglyvisible. With literature’s industrialization development and the advancement of digitaltechnology, the traditional literary periodical puts forward the severe test of survival.however, on the contrary, in recent years, the youth literature mook such as Guojingming’s ZUI NOVEL, Zhang yueran’s NEWRITING, and Raoxueman’s M-GIRL andso on as have become a new phenomenon int he literary world. This new thing deserveus to attention and concern.Currently with the travel and leisure mook popular in Japan, Taiwan and otherplaces, in china the most popular book is the youth literature mook. It is on the basis ofthe japan’s mook form and themselves literature brand to meet the reading needs ofyoung people. Guo jingming’s ZUI NOVEL is the first youth literature mook. Thesuccess of this new kind of publication has very complexed social and cultural reasons.ZUI NOVEL sells well make many publishers concern this new publication’s hugemarket potential. In the attention economy era, the youth literature writer’s enormousinfluence,gorgeous graphic design, accurate market positioning and so on are importantfactor for the success of youth literature mook.This paper mainly study on the youth literary mook phenomenon, and compared itwith the traditional literary periodical in order to have better understanding of this newpublication. The first part mainly define the concept of the youth literature mook andanalyze its social and cultural background. In the second part, mainly from the literaturecore layer of the mook text, the form of the the youthful literature mook, and thefunction of literature to explain the difference between this emerging mook and thetraditional literary periodical. The third part is to analyze the the reasons that the youthful mook obtain f the success of the market. In this part mainly take Guojingming’s ZUI NOVEL, Zhang yueran’s NEWRITING, and Raoxueman’s M-GIRL astypical cases. At last, this paper will analyze the predicament and the future prospects ofyouth literature mook in order to forecast the mook’s outlook in the further.
