In recent years, as the network resources become more and more plentiful,netizens continue to grow in power. Being one of the new media, internet brings aboutsatisfactory audio-visual experience for the netizens. In the meantime, the networkhas gradually changed the contents and communication modes of the TV series. Thetraditional modes of TV series broadcasted by Television station no longer meet theneeds of the audience. Instead, a brand new mode of TV series has come into being inthe internet era, namely online TV series. Its characteristics of diversity, interactivityand independency not only give visual experience to the audience but also satisfyvarious demands of the grand public. This thesis probes into the characteristics of theonline TV series and its development strategies of interactive communication throughthe comparative analysis between the traditional TV series and online TV series. Thethesis also discusses the operational modes of several TV series channels in China andanalyzes receiving psychology of the online audience in order to explore the futuredevelopment strategy of online TV series channels.
