Curriculum arrangement, namely, the construction of curriculum, refers to thebehaviours of making various curriculum schedules for a possible arrangement on theinstructional resources of classes, teachers, curriculums and schools for a normalteaching work by the school. Curriculum arrangement is very complicated. The problemthat must be figured out are the conflicts among curriculums. Otherwise, the teachingwork can’t be carried out as scheduled. The most difficult problem to figure out is therationality of the construction of curriculum because the definition on rationality isdifferent by different schools and teachers. An ideal curriculum should be that one thatcan meet the most rational requirements of schools and teachers. Therefore, curriculumarrangement is very important, but complicated to the teaching management. The natureof curriculum arrangement is to arrange proper time and place for curriculums startedby the school so as to ensure that the teaching work of the whole school can beconducted orderly in a planned way. So far, the research work on curriculumarrangement has been conducted for more than four decades, and plenteousachievements have been obtained. However, there is still something insufficient.In this thesis, it introduces the research background, objective and significance ofcurriculum arrangement system, and the research status at home and abroad: somecurriculum arrangement algorithms that are frequently-used currently have beencompared and analyzed, and the reason why genetic algorithm is adopted to figure outthe problem of curriculum arrangement is clarified based on this in the thesis.Next, various constraint conditions are further analyzed in the process ofcurriculum arrangement, and the corresponding mathematical models have beenestablished. Aimed the coherent characteristics of curriculum arrangement system,hybrid coding is adopted in this thesis. And in the beginning of curriculum arrangement,the constraint conditions have been simplified so that the solution on problems isconcise and explicit.Finally, the curriculum arrangement system based on genetic algorithm is analyzedand designed in this thesis, and this system has been realized. The result after system testing shows that the interface of this system is friendly, simple and easy to use, whichbetter satisfies the goal expected.The problems of curriculum arrangement are involved in a lot of theories. In thisthesis, during the research, it is emphasized to conduct through the theory of geneticalgorithm because the algorithm is quite significant is the current computer-aidedteaching system. Therefore, research on this task is quite necessary, which gives a newdirection to solve the existing problems of current curriculum arrangement system.
