In recent years, due to the rapid development of the economy and people’sincreasing material life,energy and environmental issues become increasinglyprominent. Traditional heating systems and technologies have been difficult to adaptto the needs of contemporary development, the new type district heating systembecomes the mainstream of technology development.The Subject of this paper combined district heating characteristics and thespecific needs of the system,we design a heating monitor and control system based onPLC and SCADA technology. The system achieves the monitoring and control therun state of four boiler room and five heat transfer station in the target area, thesystem data uploaded through PLC to the central control room, at the same time in thecentral control room can also remotely control the operation of the field device.According to the system workflow and performance indicators, we conducteda relevant selection of equipment and control strategy for the control layer and how toimplement the communications between central control room、control equipment andon-site execution equipment.We selected the GE IFIX industrial configuration software as a platform towrite software for the control system,and strive to provide a friendly interface for theoperating person, full-featured control software. Also we selected Siemens PLC ascontroller and use its supporting step7software to design control program, using PIDalgorithm to design the master loop; run data storage with oracle database andretrospective design report generator, so that the staff can fully understand the systemsituation and make the appropriate treatment. The system greatly improves theefficiency of the operator, can be easy to Observe the system conditions and sendcommands to the PLC, improve the control system accuracy and timeliness.After installation, commissioning and trial operation, we can see the systemworks well, good monitoring of the operation of the thermal system to achievesignificant savings in energy and environmental pollution decreased.
