In the article, a monitoring platform for the district heating network of modern city is introduced. Effective monitoring system for heating network can help the enterprise to improve the productive efficiency and economical efficiency. Through analysis of traditional monitoring system for district heating network, the SCAD A platform for district heating network based on GSM Network is put forward finally. The SCAD A platform not only implements effective supervision for the district heating network, but also supplies a method to adjusting and controlling the district heating network. Aiming at the difficulty for district heating network expanding, the platform is developed to connect database dynamically. Using Execute method of ADO model to implement dynamic expanding of the platform. So, the heating network can add new station discretionarily when it need. And because the control method used by the platform could be improved on and optimized during application course, the platform reserves interface for control function. It gives facilities for the platform to implement total system optimization by embedded relevant control algorithm. At the same time, aiming at the data-losing problem of traditional monitor system, the SCAD A platform adopts short message service based on GSM network to ensure the communication quality. Thereby the function of the platform is ensured farther. The SCADA platform project of district heating network expatiated in this article has some characteristics including handling facility, expandability, high security and stability etc. It provided reliable research platform for district heating network advanced research.
