Tactical communication has appeared for thousands of years since the appearanceof beacon tower used by our ancestors around the frontier. The tactical communicationis always very important to the form and the manner of battle during its evolution.Military innovation mainly based on information swept the world from the1990s. TheMilitary innovation holds information superiority, decision superiority and actionsuperiority by its information share real-time which is ensured by network sensor,weapons and the commander.“Networking” becomes the most important part of themilitary informational establishment. The military communication, especially includestactical communication, faces the challenge that it has never faced. The mission, thenetwork frame, the use mode and the main techniques of the tactical communicationsystem are experiencing momentous change.The traffic engineering based on MPLS is analyzed and discussed in this paper.The operation routing algorithm of the tactical grid as the key technique is studiedextraordinarily. This paper mainly introduces the operation principle of the MPLS, therealization and the superiority of the flow engineering based on the MPLS, therestrictive routing algorithm used currently, a new routing algorithm of the tactical gridwhich can be used on a sort of switchboard. The routing algorithm of the tactical gridcan collects the distribution of the network and the state information of thecommunication’s links. Then it analyzes the restrictive route which meets the users’requirement to ensure the flow balance of the communication.The characters of the routing algorithm of the tactical grid are introduced asfollows:①A more great efficiency routing algorithm of the tactical grid is put forwardbased on the current ripe restrictive routing algorithm and the practical environment andspecial requirements in the current battlefield. The outing algorithm of the tactical gridbased on mobile central manners and dispersive manners automatically selects a randomnode as the central node to realize the collection of the distribution of thecommunication and the maintenance of the communication’s links. ②The routing algorithm of the tactical grid offers the users a reliablecommunication flat because it has upgraded the capability of the communicationnetwork by calculating the most excellent route and the biggest bandwidth of thecommunication network. The realization is based on its integrative consideration thetransport medium and the distribution of the communication network.③The routing algorithm of the tactical grid is adaptive when we require to realizethe quick communication and the real-time adjustment of the tactical communication. Itcan quickly assign the operation flow and ensure its assignment exact, real-time,continuously alterable, efficient. This routing algorithm can satisfy the requirements ofany narrow network distribution. It can be adaptive to the complicated, terrible andawfully electromagnetic environment because of its powerful anti-destroying capabilityand its self-repair capability.Currently the results of this study are successfully used on a switchboard. Theswitcher with the routing algorithm of the tactical grid has the capability to realizeinformation exchange, compositive communication network, optimization route andQos assurance. In the complicated tactical communication network, the use of therouting algorithm of the tactical grid can realize the synthetical entrance and exchangeof complex services which include IP data, voice, fax and video meeting. It also canrealize insensate link between the tactical communication network and othercommunication networks such as radio communication network, satellitecommunication network and national communication network. Additionally, it canrealize the integration of the tactical communication network to reach the newrequirements of the combined operations between several arms of services in the newbattlefield.
