Traditional IP network is designed for data business, but rather to provide data transmission services, it does not have the ability to regulate the use of network resources.With the popularization of Internet applications, Internet has transformed from the single data transmission network to the integrated transmission network including a variety of businesses, these businesses have great traffic, real-time high, in the mode of best effort, in order to transmit these high-quality business flows, it is necessary to optimize the use of network resources, traffic engineering can control the use of network resources, the purpose of which is to be a reasonable distribution of business flow in the existing network topology, optimize the use of network resources to address the imbalance in the use of network resources. Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) traffic engineering adds a series of constraints in the process of calculating the shortest path, establishes the quality of service (QoS) path, improves the efficiency in the use of physiotherapy equipment, also avoids network congestion caused by the breakdown of the network, while MPLS traffic engineering can solve the problem of flow uniform distribution in the network, but it makes no distinction between types of businesses, uses the same approach to all businesses, and now there is not a new equipment to support MPLS. There is not a new system to achive QoS. Differentiated Services (DiffServ) model can be used to transmit different flows. Different business has different specific QoS, therefore, DiffServ as MPLS QoS. Architecture to implement Traffic Engineering is the best method to implement QoS now. Therefore, the study of traffic engineering mechanism of the model is of great significance for improving network performance.This paper described two architecture of QoS , introduced simply their advantages and disadvantages, overviewed the causes and working principle of MPLS, focused on MPLS for the support of Traffic Engineering, DiffServ model, the optimization of constraint-based routing and expansion of related protocols. The first Innovation point was the expansion for the network simulation tool NS2 to implement two models simulation of MPLS Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE) and DiffServ over MPLS Traffic Engineering (DS-TE),the second, amended the MPLS constraint-based routing algorithms, used the "shortest-distance path" optimization algorithm to implement MPLS-TE and DS-TE, compared the use of the network bandwidth of two models, experimental results show DS-TE model has good advantages in technology of network resources utilization, in each model of MPLS-TE and DS-TE,the "shortest-distance path" routing optimization algorithm can be more reasonable bandwidth allocation of resources than MPLS constraint-based routing algorithm.
