With the development of science and technology, electronics and informationtechnology is gradually applied to agricultural production, which generated a lot ofinformation network-centric farmland irrigation monitoring products, but the runtimepower consumption of these products high, generally powered by solar panels, the costis high.Because the high operating power consumption of traditional farmland irrigationmonitoring system, This paper research and design a low power consumption offarmland irrigation monitoring system, in the system farmland irrigation according tothe temperature and humidity of the soil in the farmland. The full paper of major workdone as follows:(1) Careful analysis of farmland irrigation monitoring system demand and knowthe function and Design requirements of the system can be complete, then make theoverall design of the system and divided the system hardware and software modulesbasis on the overall program.(2) According to the overall design of the hardware system and systemcharacteristics, select low-power wireless microcontroller as the system controller,select the temperature and humidity in the high-precision sensor acquisition of farmland,after the chip selection of the appropriate hardwarecircuit design and build the hardwareplatform required for system operation.(3) Analysis of the MAC layer protocol of ZigBee protocol stack, found mainlynetwork run unnecessary energy consumption in the MAC layer protocol is collisionretransmission, crosstalkunnecessary monitor. After the analysis of the protocol stack,this article uses sleep listening, collision avoidance measures to improve the MAC layerprotocol of ZigBee protocol stack, make the ZigBee network running on low powerconsumption.(4) In order to enable the system to run in the case of low power consumption, thesystem node must sleep, so design the system runtime communication protocolsbetween the module and the module to ensure reliable operation of the system.On the basis of the system can ensure reliable message transmission and execution, design thehardware control program to control hardware to work. Finally, for the convenience ofthe user of farmland irrigation management, Finally, for the convenience of users offarmland irrigation management, design management software of the PC computer byerial communication, multi-threaded and MFC technology.According to simulation test, the low-power farmland irrigation monitoringsystems design In this paper can effectively achieve the functionality of the system, Inthe case of two battery-powered system designed in this paper can work200days, anddid not use the traditional system of low-power strategy, working hours can only be upto67days, the power consumption of the system operation has been greatlyreduced.More important is the improvement of the power consumption of the MAC layer of theZigBee protocol stack, is extremely important for battery-powered ZigBee applications,ZigBee technology can be more widely used.
