Portal technology is a standardized information integration solution for enterprises.Information portal platform built on this technology can provide a uniform access forusers from different business systems, remove the barriers therein and eliminate the“information islands”. With the deepening of Chinese enterprises’ informatizationprocess, there is an increasing demand of information portal platform. Chinesecompanies concern not only the matter of having such platform or not, but also begin topay attention to such issues as iterative development, high costs, long construction cycle,and maintenance difficulties.To solve these problems, the present thesis conducts a detailed research on Portaltechnology and multi-tenancy technology. It combines the two technologies and designsthe multi-tenancy information portal platform. By integrating multi-tenancy technologyinto Portal, the platform is capable of reusing Portal’s software and hardware resourcesand lowering the construction and usage costs.Firstly, based on multi-tenancy technology’s implementation ideas as well asPortal’s application scenarios and features, the present thesis determines to make use ofthe Portlet’s resource management framework and the multi-tenancy based storagesystem to isolate the tenants, and achieve multi-tenancy by cutting the Portlet sets anddata in Portal.Secondly, the thesis introduces in detail the designing process of the Portletresource management framework and the multi-tenancy storage system. Whiledesigning the Portlet resource management system, the thesis explores thecharacteristics of Portal’s resources and establishes the resource model to define theconcepts of resource, resource provider, resource user, and the relations among the three.It sets up the resource sharing and isolation mechanism, which is capable of sharing andisolating Portlet’s resources through system resource pool and tenant’s private resourcepool, and also designs the management process of Portlet’s resources in themulti-tenantcy information portal platform according to the application scenarios ofPortal. In the designing process of the data storage system, this thesis discusses the three different ways to save multi-tenants data, and determines the storage solution of makinguse of schema to isolate tenants’ data. In consideration of the openness of Portal, thepresent thesis also probes into the mapping process of multi-tenant database in openenvironment and designs the tenant-to-schema mapping mechanism.Lastly, the thesis describes the realization of the key modules in the multi-tenantinformation portal platform, and relevant performance tests.The multi-tenant information portal platform not only absorbs the multi-tenancytechnology, which is fit for scenarios with multi-tenants, but is also compatible with theJSR168standard and can be easily integrated into the standardized Portlet. The platform,therefore, has great significance for the application of multi-tenancy technology in thefield of Portal technology.
