Enterprise Information Portal is one of the option methods enterprise information integration. Enterprise Information Portal makes use of the component of portlet through interactive communication and collaboration to achieve the purpose of enterprise information integration. But there is no clear definition of how the data transmission between the portlet and not supporting collaboration in portlet specification. It's very necessary for us to research on data communication and collaboration between multi-portlet in Enterprise Information Portal.The main purpose of this study is designed to solve multi-Portlet communication between the collaboration. At first, the paper introduces and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of common methods of Portlet communication. It proposes formalization, classification and concept of the portlet's communication and collaboration. It points out that specific issues need to be addressed. In order to address the communication and collaboration between the Portlets, the paper proposes an approach for extending implement interface of portlet and a framework of portlet cooperation by supporting communication between portlet. The paper makes a reference of the current Portal Portlet communication in collaborative product design ideas. The approach is based on established portlet Specification, the Pluto, XML and JMS. The framework has the following characteristics.Firstly, it uses XML technology to communicate the data exchanged among packaged into a single type.Secondly, it makes use of JMS messaging services transfer synchronous or asynchronous communication mechanism to realize the Portlet packaging and reliability of information transmission between.Thirdly, it provides a collaborative process of analysis modules to support collaboration between portlets.Lastly, it ensures system flexibility and scalability by extended basic services layer.
