Fan Changjiang is a famous journalist in china, his news works involving Thenorthwest corners of China and Travel in Saishang have influenced generations, andwon supports among the people, which represent the highest achievement of theChinese modern newsletters. Due to the special position of Fan Changjiang inChinese journalism history, research on his works are very abundant andcomprehensive, but they focus on subject characteristics and analyze them from theangle of writing skills, but we ignore its narrative characteristics. This is a new pointwhich introduce some theories and methods of narrative into the research of FanChangjiang’s newsletters,The choices of point of view of Fan Changjiang’s newsletters are variable whichconsist of omniscient point of view, limited omniscient point of view and objectivepoint of view. It has a great connection between these points of view and ideology. Sothey can both roam freely in the historical space to show the wide picture of societyand the era landscape, and capture the vivid images with the details of the scene. Thecharacteristics of these works made the author with a clear purpose convey someexperiencing information about himself to the public in the process of investigation.This research discusses forms of narrative voice of his newsletters from three aspectson description, overview and comment. These narrative voices reflect that the plotnarrative logic and argument reasoning logical cross in hand. Fan Changjiang’s worksuniqueness is also embodied that the choice of full of strong contemporary content,the depressed but rousing and serious but not indifferent narrative tone,integratingwith the poetic narrative language form to the unique narrative style.The application of principles and methods of narratology are carried on thediscussion on some specific problems of Fan Changjiang’s newsletters, in order toprovide a new perspective to deepen understanding and expand the research vision onFan Changjiang’s works and provide experiences to the contemporary newsletterswriting.
