| This paper seeks to examine news in city newspapers, more specifically, people’s livelihood news in the local newspaper Xiamen Business. Observed renamed the "Xiamen Daily" people’s livelihood news reports before and after the change trajectory, and these tracks were analyzed and summarized to reflect the "Xiamen Daily" media social responsibility efforts, and then explore the possibility of the development of people’s livelihood news to the public news.This paper is divided into a total of five chapters:introduction, which renamed the "Xiamen Daily" background briefing, described the research motivation and research purposes; second chapter reviews the research academic achievements, and introduced the domestic the rise of the development of the theory of the people’s livelihood news and the difficulties encountered, as well as the public journalism movement in the country; Chapter Description of this study, the study sample selection, data collection and processing; Chapter Xiamen Daily "three years from March2010to February2013, news reports complete content analysis and news reports Xiamen Daily "people’s livelihood analysis and review; Chapter of the study’s conclusions, and recommendations in this chapter for "Xiamen Daily" news from the people’s livelihood to explore the possibility of the development of public journalism.The value of this study lies in the method of content analysis "Xiamen Daily" people’s livelihood news reports do quantitative presented and analyzed.
