Wetland is one of the most important ecosystems on earth, and has importantvalue in ecological, social, economic and so on. Human’s long-term unreasonabledevelopment results in the decrease of wetland area, ecological degradation, waterpollution and a series of ecological problems, so wetland needs timely protection andgovernance. Liaohe estuarine wetland is the important coastal wetland in northChina, and has large areas of suaeda heteroptera, and offers a survival for kinds ofanimals and plants, so it plays an important ecological role. But the destructivedevelopment for a long time leads to serious pollution in this region. Therefore, ourcountry carries out special research and engineering of Liaohe estuarine wetlandmanagement. For the convenience of the wetland studies, management, and showinggovernance results, the Liaohe estuarine wetland geographic informationmanagement system is established. This thesis introduces the technology related to establishing geographicinformation management system of Liaohe estuarine wetland, and describes theestablishment, analysis and design process of the system, finally shows the featuresof the system operation interface. This system uses the Java EE and OpenGeoframework architecture implements the B/S structure of the WebGIS system. Thesystem uses the current popular SSH framework to complete the platform and theMVC pattern, so the extensible platform is set up. In order to realize the GISfunction, this system adopts the following structure: the client uses Openlayers maprendering and interactive operation, map server adopts GeoServer to publish a mapservice management layer, basic database and spatial database applies thePostgreSQL/PostGIS, tiled map cache uses the GeoWebCache to reduce the burdenof the server and improve server response speed. This system develops a good user rights management mechanism to ensure thesafety of system and data, allows administrator to upload new data in the wetland ofvector map data and publish the layer. It greatly reduces the difficulty ofmaintenance and updating the system data. And it also provides a highly scalableplatform to upgrade and add new functionality in the future conveniently. TheOpenGeo system can splice each part in the framework seamlessly and allows usersreplace parts of the technology flexibly.
