The wetland that is an important survival environment and ecosystem on the earth, can stability the environment, protect the species gene and supply the useful resources. But the wetland is the latest resource taken seriously, and has been destroyed. Now, its particularity and importance have got the value that it should have. In this paper, Songnen Plain wetland is taken as the research object, GIS model of storing data is designed, spatial data are showed by WebGIS, and the information is issued on Internet. The wetland is benefited on the monitor, the research, the management and the protection by sharing information in a wide rang.In this paper, several schemes of storing spatial data are analyzed, and RDBMS is used to manage spatial data and non-spatial data. Spatial data model is designed based on Geodatabase. In view of the redundancy and the consistency of data, attribute data are divided into several groups and stored. Spatial data and attribute data is linked by unique id. According to the demands of system, SQLServer2000 that is the software of RDBMS is chosen to manage all kinds of data. Optimize the database and delete the unwanted data. Code the feature, and establish foreign key through the code to link the tables. Optimize the spatial database by improving space data index performance based on SDE. Finally spatial data and attribute data are integrated organically and managed effectively in SQLServer2000.In this paper, the basic theory of WebGIS and ArcIMS is introduced, map services are established and managed by ArcIMS, and ASP is chosed to develop the website of wetland. The process of transport data in the system is introduced. Based on map services, the WebGIS of wetland is achieved using ASP, HTML, JavaScript and VBScript, including the GIS function of operating the map, querying spatial information, and carrying on certain spatial analyses. And it can query and show non-spatial information by graphs, too.And then in this paper, the methods of enhancing the speed of opening web pages and improving the whole system security are introduced, in order to make this research transform from the technology to the practical application.
