In the period of social transition, the simple news cannot satisfy audiences’ growing request forproblem-analyses. And editorial pages in different media are trying to provide the information withideas to fulfill people’s need to help those making choices and references. However, those ideas arebecoming more similar, low-quality and fragmented with the breadth of platform for opinion expression,and even dimmed the social core values. At this circumstance, the essay aimed to deal with twoproblems: why does multiple idea expression encounter such situation and what the relationshipbetween the multiple and integration of the idea in different social events. The author also wants todiscuss the social values in each of the expression of multiple and consensus.First of all, the article started with the following three aspects to analyze related studies domesticand overseas: the current situation of opinion expression of media, the social values and the evaluationof diversification. Through this work, the author found that related studies were mainly at themacro-theory stand, and there were few studies analyzing specific articles. And the current studies aremostly hold the positive attitude toward the multiple idea expression, and few works are about thenegatives. Moreover, the specific measurement indexes are wanting in the evaluation of diversification.At this point, the essay attempts to analyzing the idea expression in specific social events, and hopes toget the relationship and social values between the expression of multiple and single ideas.At the second part, the author elaborated the theory mechanism of opinion expression: thedevelopment history of opinion expression, the dilemma and its reasons of multiple pattern, and thefunction and significance of opinion expression. When looking back to the history of media opinionexpression, we can clearly find the changes happened to its content, function and formation. And allthese changes lead to a situation of diversification, mainly in the variety of the subject and channels inopinion expression, as well as its variety content and system. However, this kind of diversification inopinion expression nowadays encountered some dilemmas: as the shock happened to our social corevalues, people cannot find some common criteria to help them differ right and wrong when some eventsoccurred to our society. This dilemma is caused by the absence of integration for social consciousness inthe opinion expression. When the absence came up, it limited the function of opinion expression inspreading ideas, as well as leading and cohering people. This is the key reason why we need to break through this dilemma and make clear of the relations between multiple and single idea expression.Then, the article introduced two different ways for fulfills the audiences’ needs in idea receiving:integration and reasoning. The author chose the discussions over the event of Diaoyu Island and ‘House’woman in Beijing Newspaper and Global Times as targets in analyzing. At the end of research, theauthor found an semblable structure: the surface layer is showing its variety in column setup, identity ofauthor and angles of arguing; the middle layer on the other hand has no clear trend in opinionexpression as audiences’ otherness in opinion receiving; and the root layer is unified performed thevalue perseverance in the level of country, society and nation, no matter how different the events andopinions are.At last, the author considered the ‘diversified surface layer and the unified root layer’ structure inidea expression is the right one for the request of our age, and to make a furthermore discussing on thesocial value of opinion expression. Specifically speaking, the diversified surface layer is good atpromoting the communication of different social groups and enriching people’s views. And the unifiedroot layer makes our society more coordinated and valuable for its people. Moreover, in the middlelayer, the relatively unified opinions expression improves the efficiency of reaching common view,while the relatively diversified opinions expression helps the audiences find more reasonable views. naddition, social value display of media’s expression of opinion should unify its instrumental value withintrinsic value.
