This paper discusses R&D of tablet PC, which is based on the Ingenic JZ4770CPU. This paper in view of the current development and demand of the tablet PC, mainly focused on the schematic circuit design, PCB layout, system software architecture and testing of the tablet PC.The first chapter of this paper discusses the tablet PC development history and trend. And gives the purpose and significance of the paper, designs objectives and so on.The second chapter discusses the tablet PC’s solution design. And simply described JZ4770CPU specifications, also give JZ4770CPU core characteristics. This chapter focuses on the principles hardware design and system hardware structure.The third chapter discusses the tablet PC’s circuit design. Especially discussed the key chip selected and circuit design of PMU, DDR2, LCD, HDMI and WIFI sub system.The fourth chapter discusses PCB layout, including PCB layer settings, layout regulation and layout checking. This chapter emphasis on DDR2, power, capacitive touch screen, RF and the differential line layout.The fifth chapter presents the features and basic framework of the android4.0. Ingenic programmer tools and programmer process have also been described on this chapter. Final discuss overall unit testing including static, PMU output voltage, full-featured, system stability and electric properties testing.Finally summary of this paper, and provides an outlook of the future of the tablet PC development speed, lower power consume, and supports1080P video codec, support3D games, support android4.0OS and other advantages.
