With the rapid development of semiconductor technology and development of the digital image processing technology, the demand of handheld display terminal is becoming increasingly demanding. The traditional TFT-LCD screen because of its own shortcomings will be unable to meet the needs of people, OLED with its active-light, low power consumption, ultra-thin, high luminous efficiency, fast response and other advantages has been attracted more and more attention, and there are more than and the trend to replace TFT-LCD. OLED display technology in the future display industry will play a huge role, but because of the current TFT-LCD technology is more mature, many businesses with little investment of human and material resources to research and development of OLED display technology. Based on the research of OLED luminescent mechanism and drive technology, from the point of view of system, a design scheme of the AM-OLED drive chip is put forward.In this paper, from the viewpoint of system design, a AM-OLED one chip driver IC with a WVGA (800*480) resolution is described in detail. It can support16.7M color display. Among them, the latest Ram-less Technology is used to replace SRAM by two-level-buffer architecture, can effectively save the chip area, thereby reducing the cost of. In digital image processing, joined the color enhance technology, compared with the traditional vivid color, support the skin maintain technology, it can make skin color and the background of the transition to a more natural; Gamma correction in digital end, this can reduce the simulation end of difficulty, but also through the register regulation provides a plurality of gamma curve; Increased the MIPI interface, MIPI-DSI interface with its unique differential low voltage mode, can handle larger data throughput.The IC is implemented in a0.162um,1P5M CMOS process. At present, the drive IC has been completed the tape-out, successfully lit OLED display. According to data provided by TE and SA, the indicators are in line with the requirements of SPEC.
