Organic Light Emitting device is a new display device, it was called Organic Light Emitting Diode too. OLED, which has the merits such as active luminescence, light weight, thin thickness, high brightness, fast response, high definition, low voltage, high efficiency and so on, is a potential substitute for LCD. It is the hotest research subject in display field recently.The main contributions of the paper is introduce the emitting theory and the structure of OLED, and then we introduce the photo electricity characteristic of OLED, analyze the driving requirement. We expounded the characteristic between current driving method and voltage driving method, AC driving method and DC driving method, passive driving method and active driving method.Through theory research we find the DC driving method is also suitable for OLED driving. An appropriate driving mode is designed to optimize the driving circuit. And a method constructing a display system based on the single chip processor is proposed. The driving circuits and control circuits of OLED display system are designed. An AC-Voltage driving circuit is proposed and designed. We test the characteristic of OLED under AC-Voltage driving; meanwhile we investigate the characteristic of OLED under AC-Voltage driving and DC-Voltage driving. The relevant test and research show that the AC-driving circuit functions excellently, realizing AC driving and restraining the cross talk, and the lifetime of OLED can be improved greatly. We also find the luminance efficiency of OLED under AC-Voltage driving is lower than DC-Voltage driving.The other key point of this paper is the driving circuit for OLED. With the aid of the design thoughts of other flat panel displays, A control circuit is designed firstly, which can be applied on small scale of OLED, and does a hardware implementation based on programmable logic device. The simulation result is gotten by using software, and a hardware implementation is done by CPLD. The control circuits which we designed could realize control logic。The circuits which have simple structure could be easily integrated and applied on Passive-Matrix OLED by the aid of AC driving circuit which we have designed. Under simple development, it could be applied on Active-Matrix OLED directly. Finally we design power circuit, through the design of a stable current circuit, we solve the disaffiliate luminance in OLED display.
