The Management And Protection Of The Buddhist Engraving In Jinling Scriptural Press

The Jinling Scriptural Press, which is in Nanjing Jiangsu province, is the largest circulation andcollection agencies for the Chinese language woodcut version in the world. It had147years since itsestablishment and over120,000buddhist engraving were collection. At the end of the qing dynasty, thesebuddhist engraving not only made a grate contribution to the buddhist scriptures circulation and thebuddhist though spreading, but also had important significance for our study the development of buddhistculture and the history of the woodblock printing, today. However, as many cultural relics, the life ofbuddhist engraving were limited and they need good management and a reasonable protection. By takingadvantage of the existing literatures and investigating the protection, this article systematically discussedthe management process and protect method of the buddhist engraving in the Jinling Scriptural Press.The full text, which was divided into three parts, included the introduction, main body and conclusion.The introduction that triggered the significance of this topic, summarized the survival status ofdomestic engraving and the buddhist engraving in the Jinling Scriptural Press.The main body has four parts.The first part sketched Yang Renshan and the Jinling Scriptural Press which he founded. It introducedthe historical background, the buddhist thoughts and purpose of Yang Renshan and the characteristic ofbuddhist engraving in the Jinling Scriptural Press.The second part analysed the management and protection of the buddhist engraving in the JinlingScriptural Press by using datas.The third part analysed the protection technology of the buddhist engraving, including the protectionof making, storing and managing.The fourth part revealed the value and impact of the management and protection for the buddhist engraving in the Jinling Scriptural Press.In the peroration, combination with present situation of the management and protection for thebuddhist engraving, put forward responsibility and obligation of our generation.
