In recent years, radio frequency identification (RFID) was eye-catching in theory and practical application aspects as a rapidly develop technology, a non-contact automatic identification technology. An ultra-high frequency (UHF), RFID technology is the world's most advanced automatic identification technology, it has long identified distance, identification speed and service life, will be widely applied to areas such as electronic road signs, highway fees, logistics management, product tracking. Thus the research of UHF band RFID reader has a good prospect. The base-band part is the core of the reader design, its functions and features make direct impact on the reader's performance, so the research of base band part plays a significant role of improving the performance of reader.In this paper, research and analysis of UHF reader baseband, respectively, are introduced from the basic functions and extended functions. Basic functions introduce the coding and decoding, demodulation filtering and anti-collision algorithm which are the basic baseband processing functions for a normal reader, and focusing on analysis of an improved anti-collision algorithm; Extended functions based on the basic functions, the sensitivity self-test of the reader and analysis of received signal strength, focus on improving system stability and practicability.The hardware realization uses processing framework of FPGA+DSP, the software exploitation of FPGA uses the ISE development platform, DSP uses development platform Code Composer, and the assistant simulation uses Matlab, conpose the overall simulation system of the design. In the development platform of ISE complete the major program function simulation, and download the program to chip of FPGA properly; Analysis and design of FIR filters use Matlab software, then realize in the DSP normally.This paper is based on theoretical researches, and supplemented with simulation analysises. Some parts verified in chips for a condition. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the study of baseband part, it also creates conditions for improving the performance of the RFID reader.
