The rapid development of science and technology is promoting the wide use ofcomputers, Our work, lives, entertainment and learning are more and more insepblefrom computers. With the progress and development of network communicationtechnology, people’s lives are gradually changed by connecting numerous computerwith Internet. the goods’ sales management system was born in this context and wasslowly developed, it is an integral part of people in the commodity trading, It is anintegral part of people’s making commodity trading.Supermarket commodity sales management system is an innovation of computerapplication technology, which uses computers to manage supermarket stocks. Beforecomputers were not yet universal, sales management was operated by means ofhand-written of the staff. Now Supermarkets generally use the computer intelligentmanagement, using the computer as a tool for computer supermarket inventorymanagement procedures to help managers carry out more effectively supermarketinventory management. Supermarket sales management system is a kind of the typicalInformation Management System, Its development mainly includes two aspects:(1) theestablishment and maintenance of the database;(2)the development of front-endapplications. The former requires to establish a library which haves the strong dataconsistency and integrity and the good data security.Regarding the former requirementto establish data consistency and integrity of strong, good data security database. thelatter requires applications to have the fully function and easily to be used.In the process of system’s design and development, first subject background, research purposeand meaning and research status of the supermarket sales management system are briefly introduced.And related technologies and theoretical basis used in the system’s design are described. Thencombining with the actual situation, feasibility analysis and demand analysis of the system areconducted. And then I focus on analyzing and discussing the design of the system, including thebasic ideas and principles of the system’s design, the business process and data flow of the systemand system’s functional modules and database. Finally, according to the basic process and ideas of the previous system’s design, completing the system’s development and design,and its associated test is carried out.The system uses a three-layer structure and the thought of object-oriented designmethod, it consists of the user management module, changing the password module,merchandise sales entry module, merchandise sales inquiry module, reported lossmanagement module, Purchase of goods entry module, supplier management module,stock management module, returns management module and sales analysis module.Using Visual Basic6.0development tools, SQL Server2000database, B/S architecturesystem to design and develop, which haves the low-cost, strong practice, high securityand is easy to maintain. By testing and run, it can satisfy the demands for the dailymanagement work, improving the working efficiency of the supermarket workers,reducing the management of resources, thus it can reduce occupying administrativecosts, making the supermarket business obtain better economic benefits, achieving thedesign objective and management standard.
