It is of great significance to apply the visualization techniques in the field ofmedical image processing. It provides a realistic three-dimensional model for doctorsand researchers. Meanwhile it also makes doctors and researchers get rid of the limits ofdiagnosing only with experience and imagine through qualitative and quantitativeanalysis of lesion area. Hence the visualization techniques greatly improve the accuracyof diagnosis. With the continuous progress of computer technology and computergraphics technology in recent years and the growing popularity of high-performancecomputer, many researchers are familiar with three-dimensional medical imagevisualization, which only existed in expensive computer or graphics workstationpreviously. Consequently, it promotes the development of medical image processingsoftware. This paper mainly discussed surface rendering and volume renderingtechnology in the medical image visualization based on previous studies. TheMicro-Computed Tomography (Micro-CT) image post-processing frame work isredesigned based entirely on the plug-in implementation according to the available newvisual demand of Micro-CT imaging of small animals in the laboratory system. Adetailed introduction on the realization of the visual part is given in this paper. Finally,3D visualization functions of the Micro-CT software are realized based on corealgorithm of Medical Imaging ToolKit (MITK) and the interface design function of Qt.
